Hear about the beginning of the "...for Dummies" book series from its first author, Dan Gookin. In 1989, Gookin had the idea for a different kind of reference book but was having difficulty getting it published. The book was eventually picked up by a tech publishing company who agreed to print only 7,500 copies and released the books in 1991. Today, there are more than 250 million books in print and over 1,800 titles. Hear Dan Gookin talk about how the idea for the book series came about and its subsequent success.
