A resolution to expel Rep. George Santos (R-NY) has been formally introduced on the House floor, setting a vote within the next two days. Rep. Santos is facing federal charges of fraud and corruption, and a House Ethics Committee investigation found what it said was “substantial evidence” Rep. Santos knowingly violated both criminal laws and House rules.
Rep. Santos says he is not guilty of the charges, and should not be expelled from the House without being convicted.
U.S. Senate leaders' statements on aid to Ukraine seem to point to a major disagreement over whether to include changes to U.S. border security in the same bill. We will hear from those leaders and talk with CQ Roll Editor in Chief Jason Dick.
Secretary of State Antony Blinken is at NATO headquarters in Brussels for a foreign ministers' meeting on aid to Ukraine. He will then be traveling to Israel to see if the truce with Hamas can be extended.
Twelve more hostages who were held in Gaza have been released, as have 30 Palestinians were from Israeli prisons. No Americans among the released hostages.
