1:28Now PlayingHouse Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) paused his floor speech Thursday after being interrupted by Rep. Mark Alford (R-MO) while discussing Homeland Security Department funding.
"If you have something to say to me, you can say it right now," Rep. Jeffries said. "That's what I thought."
Rep. Alford later took to the floor to apologize for interrupting, which he attributed to an "uncontrollable laugh" at the minority leader's remarks.
"I wrongly laughed out loud when I heard him say in the well of the floor of the House of Representative, quote, 'Yes, we will always support securing the border — today, tomorrow and forever.' An uncontrollable laugh," he said.
