0:44Now PlayingSen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) on Monday called for the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) to be abolished as he campaigned for South Carolina gubernatorial candidate Alan Wilson (R).
"At the federal level we should abolish the IRS. There are 93,000 agents at the IRS. I think we should put a padlock on that building and put every one of them down on our southern border," he said in Columbia.
"Can you imagine you're coming to this country illegally through heat, through incredibly difficult circumstances, you get across the river, and the first thing you see is 93,000 IRS agents? You'd turn around and go home too."
