"What the Democrats were saying yesterday was, 'Mr. President, we're not for this war,'" Rep. Hoyer said of the successful war powers vote. "The bill says you don't have the support of Congress. And the Constitution says it is the Congress of the United States that declares … war."
"You got to fight a war in a bipartisan way," Rep. Bacon said of the president's approach to the war. "You can't say, 'I'm going to go it alone, I don't need you.' Because that works for a month, two months, but you don't get support beyond that."
