The FBI Director just sued a magazine for $250 million because they called him a drunk. What kind of man does that?
Kash Patel — Donald Trump's pick to run the FBI — is suing The Atlantic magazine for a quarter of a billion dollars. Their crime? Reporting that multiple sources describe Patel as an "unhinged alcoholic" whose drinking has become a national security risk. So Patel is doing what every guilty man does. He's threatening to sue everyone who tells the truth about him.
Congressman Jamie Raskin wants Patel to submit to the World Health Organization's alcohol screening test under oath, with the penalty of perjury hanging over him. A Houston judge already tossed out Patel's defamation suit against former FBI official Frank Figliuzzi, who said Patel spends more time in nightclubs than at FBI headquarters. The judge called it "rhetorical hyperbole" protected by the First Amendment.
Meanwhile the New York Times reports the FBI has launched an investigation into the reporter who exposed Patel using the FBI's private jet to fly his girlfriend to her singing gigs. Patel has assigned SWAT teams from multiple FBI field offices to protect her in public. And there are reports the FBI had to use SWAT tools to pry open Patel's own door because he was so hungover he slept through his wakeup call.
