as posted by the channelSPECIAL HIGHLIGHT β This is a curated clip from the Sunday night livestream, not a live show.
The White House accused the left of inciting violence. Then a Texas Republican congressman gos on a podcast and spouts fake race-IQ charts trying to prove people from Haiti and Somalia are genetically inferior.
After Saturday's shooting at the Correspondents' Dinner, the White House went on every camera it could find and blamed the left for inciting violence. Our rhetoric, they said, gets Americans hurt.
Fine. Let's look at the rhetoric.
A sitting Texas Republican congressman goes on one of the biggest podcasts in MAGA media this week and announced β out loud, on tape, with no shame β that the average intelligence score in Haiti is 68 and in Somalia is 70. He used those numbers, numbers his podcast host appears to have pulled off a tweet, to argue that whole countries of brown-skinned people are too stupid to live alongside Americans.
This is not a policy disagreement. This is hate speech with a microphone. And hate speech with a microphone is what gets a Haitian grandmother spit on at a gas station in Springfield. It's what gets a Somali kid jumped at recess in Minneapolis. It's what gets a brown-skinned grocery store owner shot in El Paso.
The body count from this exact rhetoric is on the public record. It has names.
The data is also on the public record.
Undocumented immigrants pay more into Social Security than they will ever collect. They pay more into unemployment insurance than they can claim. They pay more in taxes than they take in services. They are a net positive. They are propping up the safety net the people screaming about them depend on.
The White House wants a conversation about who incites violence in this country. Let's have it.
