Gloria Velez revealed her tumultuous teenage years, including dating a much older street-affiliated man from the Five-Percent Nation at just 14. Growing up in Broward County, Florida, a hotbed of gang activity, Gloria was drawn to “street dudes” who embodied the charisma and danger she admired. Her first serious boyfriend was involved in gang violence, even getting arrested from her home. Soon after, she dated Fabian, a 20-year-old connected to her social circle, whose jealousy and control escalated dangerously. At a party, Fabian, a strict Five-Percent Nation follower, shot at a car Gloria was in, nearly causing serious harm. The abuse culminated when Fabian violently attacked her at a friend’s house, prompting her father to intervene with a machete to protect her.
