ABOUT THE COURSE
In this course, Dr. Bosworth leads you on a mental adventure. Her dynamic engagement with the audience keeps your attention. The creative way she uses patient-cases keeps you learning and trying to figure out the next case. This science-based course focuses on brains, the injury of brains, and how to heal them. Dr. Bosworth evokes your emotions through psychology, game theory, and story-telling to enhance your memory. Has your brain been injured? Learn the answer in a way you’ll never forget.
This course combines an interesting topic with a dynamic teacher. Discover what your brain does behind the scenes to function best. Learn what REALLY improves a brain and what is #FakeNews. From adolescent brain-development to the toxicities of alcohol, Dr. Bosworth uses unique teachable-moments in every lesson. She educates on migraines, concussions, diabetes, high blood pressure, addiction, and more.
Dr. Bosworth designed this course to attract a beginner and advance their knowledge one story at a time. The curriculum builds upon the knowledge of the learner throughout the course. Although you can take this course alone, Dr. Bosworth strongly recommends you form a small group of friends or colleagues. She invites teenagers, elders, professionals, and neighbors to join in this powerful experience. She sorts learners into teams of 3-5 people to collaborate and learn. Diversity enriches the group’s education.
Once you complete the workshop, you want others to experience this shift in thinking. You will want your children, grandchildren, and neighbors to experience this course. Change the addiction conversation in your community. Help the next generation of brains shine brighter than ever.
Dr. Bosworth strengthens the learning environment by asking each group to identify a member of their local City Council. Each module begins with a multiple-choice question that the City Council needs to answer. As a group, councilmembers gain points by selecting the correct answer. If the City Council gets the answer wrong, they must select their next best answer. The educational module only advances after the City Council Members identify the correct answer. The final assignment asks the City Council to design their city’s policy for a chronic alcoholic sitting in their jail.
