Concerta is a slow release form of methylphenidate, that uses an osmotic pumping system for very uniform drug delivery. The manufacturer has stopped making the only truly bioequivalent generic Concerta.
The recent shortages of generic versions of Concerta are not directly related to the Adderall shortages that have been a problem for half a year.
