- Science Under Attack:
The current US administration has repeatedly shown its contempt for and fear of science by attacking scientists and slashing funding for science. Yet science remains one of the few ways for us to be sure that an association between two events is really a cause and effect relationship rather than due to random chance, or some other connection between the two events.
Undermining science doesn't make us smarter, safer, or stronger.
- Diagnosing ADHD:
Diagnosing ADHD can't be done from a simple checklist of inattentive and impulsive symptoms. An accurate diagnosis always depends on assessing the context in which symptoms occur, the individual's subjective experience, and whether the symptoms are causing distress or dysfunction or both. The most commonly used diagnostic criteria also omit several symptoms that are found in majorities of individuals with ADHD, particularly problems with time management, and emotional dysregulation.
