as posted by the channelSenior Hamas official Khaled Meshaal told Drop Site News that U.S. policy in the Middle East has long subordinated American interests to Israel’s, arguing that even figures within MAGA now see Israel as a strategic liability rather than an asset.
Meshaal called on Washington to reassess the Palestinian question based on America’s own interests, not Israel’s, and pointed to what he described as growing dissent inside the American right over unconditional support for Israel.
In the interview, Meshaal rejected the classification of Hamas as a terrorist organization, describing it instead as a democratically structured movement rooted in Palestinian society, with an electoral history and civil institutions. He argued that U.S. policy applies a clear double standard, contrasting Washington’s willingness to engage other formerly designated actors with its refusal to engage Hamas.
Meshaal, who has survived multiple Israeli assassination attempts and previously led Hamas’s political bureau, said sustained political engagement rather than isolation is in the best interest of both the United States and Europe. He also cited polling that places him among the most popular Palestinian leaders, alongside Marwan Barghouti.
