45:30Now PlayingCarrie Prejean Boller was ousted by Trump's Religious Liberty Commission after a hearing last week that featured heated exchanges on the definition of antisemitism. Boller told Drop Site News internal pressure to resign from the Commission began in Aug. 2025 after she reposted the Pope’s statements on Gaza and called it a genocide.
Boller rejected claims she “hijacked” last Monday’s Religious Liberty Commission hearing, telling Drop Site News she was summoned to a 7 a.m. “intervention” with Chairman Dan Patrick and Paula White and felt scared amid pressure to stay silent on Gaza. She says Israel was mentioned more than 17 times during the hearing, yet she was faulted for citing civilian deaths in Gaza.
Israeli-American author and activist Miko Peled told Drop Site News the government’s Religious Liberty Commission hearing was not about combating antisemitism but about equating anti-Zionism with antisemitism. He says Israel dominated the discussion because the goal was to sideline anti-Zionist and non-Zionist voices and reinforce the idea that opposing Zionism is inherently antisemitic.
Carrie Prejean Boller said the backlash since her appearance at the U.S. Religious Liberty Commission hearing has come from conservatives. “They are the ones attacking me,” she told Drop Site News, for rejecting efforts to equate anti-Zionism with antisemitism.
“If I don’t support the political ideology of Zionism, that’s not hatred of Jewish people.” Ryan Grim also noted the hypocrisy: the same right-wing voices that have been so deeply animated about being branded racist or transphobic for their political views are now using antisemitism accusations to shut down criticism of Israel.
