Three seats are up for election on Nov. 3 and each candidate believes they are the best person for the job.
Michelle Ziel-Dingman, John Pendlebury, Tom Hally, Evan Bastow, John Redford, Dennis Emery and Dean Ellis all agreed to participate in an EastIdahoNews.com debate hosted by Mark Richardson.
Mountain Fresh Water Company sponsored the debate.
The candidates were each asked the following questions and given 90 seconds to respond:
1. Many candidates talk about 'wasteful' tax spending in the budget for the city of Idaho Falls. Where would you look to cut the spending? Would you be willing to raise taxes in the upcoming years?
2. Everyone talks about bringing good high paying jobs into the city. What are you willing to do and how far are you willing to go to attract them?
3. Several candidates and city residents have encouraged more walking and bike paths as well as more city parks. How many more are needed and how will you pay for them?
The candidates were also allowed sixty seconds to give a closing statement.
