6:42Now PlayingIDAHO FALLS -- A murder suspect and the woman charged with aiding in his evasion had little to say during court appearances in Bonneville County Monday afternoon.
Jeremy White, the suspect in the murder of Christin Caldwell, and Deena Aday, the woman White left town with, appeared via video from the Bonneville County Jail. White is charged with second-degree murder and Aday is charged with accessory to felony.
The pair appeared separately and Magistrate Judge L. Mark Riddoch asked both suspects if they understood their charges. Both said they did with White adding, "I'm familiar with the complaint."
Aday's attorney, Kristopher Meek, requested a change to his client's current $200,000 bond. Riddoch responded that a separate bond hearing would need to be scheduled for him to consider a change.
White requested a court-appointed attorney and Riddoch agreed. The judge also order White to have no contact with any of Caldwell's children.
During a first court appearance in a felony case, the defendant does not enter a plea but must do so at the arraignment. The arraignment will take place after a preliminary hearing is held for White and Aday on Dec. 16.
