2:14Now PlayingA Kolkata court case has reportedly issued an arrest warrant against Zareen Khan in connection with an alleged cheating case which was registered against her in 2018. The investigating officer in the case had submitted the charge sheet against the actress before the court but she neither appealed for bail nor appeared before the court. Following her repeated absence, the court issued an arrest warrant. When a news portal reached out to her for a comment, Zareen reportedly said ‘I’m sure there is no truth to this. I’m surprised too and am checking with my lawyer. Only then will I be able to give you some clarity. In the meantime, you can speak to my PR.’ According to reports, the ‘Veer’ actress was scheduled to perform during a Durga Puja function in Kolkata in 2018, but she never turned up. Soon after, one of the organisers reportedly registered an FIR against Zareen and her manager for cheating and the two were asked to appear for questioning. At that time, she did turn up and claimed that she was being misguided by the organisers alleging that she was told that top notch ministers, including West Bengal CM, would attend the event. But later her team found out that it was a small scale event in north Kolkata. Zareen also alleged that there was a miscommunication over flight tickets and other accommodation, following which she had to skip the show. Reports further stated that she had also filed a case against the organisers of the show at a local court.
