Trump Is Screwing Over Republicans Who Want To Run For President

There are plenty of Republicans who want to go out and test the waters for a possible 2024 Presidential run, but they are being held back by the fact that Donald Trump won't make an announcement about whether he's running or not. This is exactly what Trump wants, but it is hurting the Republican Party more than they'd like to admit. Ring of Fire's Farron Cousins explains what's happening.

Republicans in the United States are facing a lot of problems today, uh, for very obvious reasons. But one of the biggest problems we have is the fact that Donald Trump is still hanging around out there. He's doing his rallies now. And he hasn't exactly made a public decision about whether or not he's going to be running for president. Again. Now we have talked about the fact that Ron DeSantis, the Republican governor of Florida is already rising in the polls to the point where, uh, just a couple of weeks ago, he beat Donald Trump in a straw poll from a conservative conference in Denver, not looking good for Donald Trump. And he, uh, his people this week have admitted, oh, we're keeping an eye on Ron DeSantis and DeSantis, as we reported last week is a little wary. He doesn't want to be more popular than Trump. He knows that could be bad for him, but that's not just a scientist in that position.

That's quite literally all of the Republicans out there who desperately want to start running for president or at the very least testing the water to see if there's any interest in them running for president. Obviously what, we're only six months into the Biden administration. It is a little too soon for any Republican to officially come out and say, yes, I am running for president in 2024. I want the Republican nomination to shown for that. Right? We can all agree on that. But what typically does start happening is these Republicans start to go out. And as I mentioned, they, they test the water. They make the trips to Iowa. They see if they can get people interested. They see if their talking points are resonating with average every day, middle America. And if it's not, they have time to retool it before they formed the exploratory committee.

And then they do even more. They travel to more places. They go when they do these things. But at the, at that point, you know, they're running for president hell. Once all these people who are not from Iowa, start going to Iowa. You pretty much know they're running for president and they can't do it right now because they're afraid of Donald Trump. And that's the way he wants it to be folks. I'm not worried about Donald Trump running for president. Again. If he comes out and says, Hey, I'm running for president in 2024. Cool. Um, I'm not confident the Democrats can beat you again, but I am confident enough to know that you're a comically weak candidate. You were a very weak president and your entire shtick relies on the cult, catapulting you back into the white house. And I simply don't see that happening. At least not right now, six months from now a year from now, whatever it is that could change.

And I may be singing a different tune at that point. But I will tell you right now, I am not afraid of Donald Trump, but the are, and Trump wants to keep it that way for as long as humanly possible, but the longer he does it, the more he hurts these Republicans and he setting the stage for these Republicans to not be able to go out there properly vet their messaging properly vet you know, staffing, even putting them at a severe disadvantage when 2024 finally does roll around. And I got to tell you again, I'm loving it because the Democrats should be taking full advantage of this. I do not believe that they are yet. They don't realize what kind of a golden opportunity they're given with these Republicans sitting around twiddling their thumbs, playing the waiting game like, oh, is he, is he not? I don't know.

I can't do anything until he says something. No, he's our master. We could do it. Yeah. Cool. Democrats seize on this. Right? Start the messaging. Start running ads. You've got a ton of money, run political ads all year long, talking about how horrible the Republicans are. Remind people that Ted Cruz fled his own state as his people were dying. So he could go to canned and not have to experience winter storm URI. Ted Cruz is considered somebody that's going to run run ads, attacking Ron DeSantis across the country for essentially doing the same kind of crap that Cuomo did up in New York. But Cuomo got all the attention for it.
