Dominion Voting Systems has sent subpoenas to Rudy Giuliani, Sydney Powell, and Mike Lindell as part of their $1.6 billion defamation suit against Fox News. The subpoenas are asking for all the information the three have about their appearances on the network related to coverage of the 2020 election. These individuals are all being sued separately by the company, but the suit against Fox is the most ambitious. Farron Cousins explains what this means.

Last week dominion voting systems issued a set of subpoenas to my pillow CEO, Mike Lindell, a former Trump attorney, I guess Sidney Powell. And of course, former Trump attorney Rudy Giuliani. Now these subpoenas issued to these three individuals were not for the defamation cases that dominion has pending against all three of these individuals. Individually, these subpoenas were related to the $1.6 billion defamation lawsuit that dominion has filed against Fox

News. Now that's

A little weird, isn't it. If you're already suing these three individuals individually for defamation, you know, I think it's like what 1.3 billion a piece? So the Fox news one is the biggest, but why would you subpoena them for this lawsuit

Would

Not the ones against them,

Right? What's happening here. This

Is a little confusing. And honestly, this is a little bit out of my realm of expertise at this point, because I can't quite make sense of this. So what these subpoenas are seeking, let's go ahead and get that out of the way the subpoenas are seeking any and all, uh, electronic communications, any notes they may have, uh, for these individuals, uh, based on their appearances on Fox news to talk about the 2020 election, which completely makes sense by the way, for this defamation case. Yes, these were the people who you say in your lawsuit against Fox news, they went on the network, they made these false claims, the network, uh, basically let them go completely unchallenged and even echoed them at some points, according to the lawsuit. So yes, it would make sense. These were the people who did it. You want their communications between the network about what they're going to say.

If they have emails of talking points, things like that, that does happen quite frequently. Um, granted, you know, through my work with Mike Papantonio, he has not appeared on Fox news and you know, maybe 10 years or so, but yes, they would frequently want talking points. They would tell him exactly what they wanted to talk about, where they wanted him to go. You know, all of that, maybe it's changed in the last 10 years, but I sincerely doubt that. So there would be these electronic paper trails of them possibly saying, yes, I'm going to make this claim about this voting system. And all dominions trying to do is, you know, basically say that Fox news was not caught off guard by these claims and didn't know how to respond. So they're trying to set up the case that way, which is a smart thing to do. But again, why the documents only regarding to the Fox news lawsuit, why not the lawsuits individually for these people, because those same documents, those same communications would be relevant in those individual as well. Basically showing that these people were planning on making the false claims against the voting company. Doesn't add up, something's missing here.

I have a theory,
