Republican Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene says that she wants to bring legislation modeled after Florida's "Don't Say Gay" bill to the House, meaning that it could become a federal law if Republicans have their way. This was always the goal of Republicans - states are merely the testing grounds to see if legislation can work, and now Greene wants to bring the level of oppression that Florida is experiencing to the entire country. Farron Cousins explains what's happening.

During an interview with Alex Jones this week, Marjorie Taylor green said she is absolutely 100% going to try to pass legislation on the federal level that mirrors the hugely oppressive. Don't say gay legislation that Ron DeSantis has passed down here in the state of, of Florida. Here's how that exchange went. Alex Jones asks, are you going to write a bill? Are you going to introduce a bill? Because you've got the power to do it. We would all get behind a bill to pull federal funding out of any school that sexualizes children. Before I even read her response, let me, let me stop you right there. That's not a thing that's been happening. Okay. And it me off to no end to see these Republicans, try to act like we've got groomers as they call them out here in our schools. It's absolutely not happening. And they're trying to use that to attack one who calls them out for their homophobia, which is exactly what they're engaging in. So here is Marjorie Taylor. Green's idiotic response. Absolutely. 100%. I will meet with my team right after this interview. And we will work on it, Alex, because I will do anything I can to protect kids. I only want allies. If someone doesn't like me or my legislation who cares,

Here's the thing. Marjorie Taylor green has been anti transgender people. She has been anti LGBTQ in general, ever since came coming office. Hell, she got her start in politics. According to this article from LGBTQ nation, like boycotting, drag Queens, like this has been her whole Mo this is what her whole personality is about. We all remember she's, uh, hung up her, you know, there's only two gender signs in front of her office. She's and moaned about the fact that they've been defaced. We've got criminals walking the halls of Congress. She says, this is total BS, culture, war nonsense, coming from some of the dumbest people to ever be given platforms, whether in media or in Congress.

And of course they wanna slap you down. If you dare criticize them, say, well, you must be in favor of being a groomer. You must want to have sex with children. Oh, it's an easy cop out. Right? And that's one hell of an accusation to lie against any other individual. I dare say a little bit libelous, little bit slanderous, little bit defame kind of sounds like the thing you could Sue somebody for calling you, right? That's what I wanna see happen. The right has absolutely in recent years, weaponized defamation lawsuits. And if these Republicans want to continue to refer to people as groomers, if they wanna accuse them of being groomers, if they wanna accuse them of sexualizing children implying pedophilia, I want them all sued for defamation. Yes, I am calling for it right now. If they try to hit you with this claim, if they try to slap that label on them, you hit them right back with a lawsuit immediately. This is getting out of hand, they're hiding behind this. We're protecting children. There is no evidence to suggest that there's anybody out there grooming these young kids in a Fri school.

It doesn't exist. But the hatred from these Republicans sure does the lives that they're putting in jeopardy because of this legislation that exists. And if Marjorie Taylor green on the Republicans get a majority of November of this year after the midterms, you better believe they're gonna sponsor legislation to do this at the federal level. The only silver lining is the fact that there are not enough democratic seats up for grabs in the midterms. So no matter how many seats Republicans win, if they every single Senate race this year, they still would not have enough to form a veto proof majority in that Senate. So that's the only silver lining there. I think they'd be short by one vote. Even if they picked up every democratic seat this year, Biden would never let this happen. I, I, I think, but this is where Republicans are headed. They have shown us who they are. They try it out on the state level. And if it's successful, they bring it to the federal level. Usually we don't see it happen this quickly, but times are a change in folks and extremism has taken hold here in the United.
