before President Biden's State of the Union speech on Tuesday evening, Kevin McCarthy, the Republican Speaker of the House, came out and publicly said that he doesn't want his Republicans basically embarrassing themselves or him during the State of the Union. They're not gonna do any childish stunts like Nancy Pelosi when she ripped the paper up. No, no, no, no, no. His Republicans, he said, were gonna be the model of decorum. If you watch the speech or if you've been on the media, uh, you know, online in the last, you know, 36 hours, you know that that didn't happen. And the Republicans made complete fools of themselves. And Wednesday morning, the night or the morning after the State of the Union address yesterday, uh, Kevin McCarthy went on Fox News and admitted he was angry at his Republicans for not listening to him about not being childish. Here's what McCarthy had to say. He tried to, he tries to use that for a political ploy talking about President Biden. But the one thing we need to be is we need to be smart. We need to be smart. Don't take the bait, stay with the American public about what we want to do.
But they did take the bait and now you're mad. And Marjorie Taylor Green, of course, has now come out against McCarthy, who was her best friend. McCarthy said he'd, you know, defend her till, till he dies. But, uh, she now says, I didn't take any bait from President Biden. Marjorie, you interrupted Biden nine separate times during the speech on top of that. Again, if you watch the speech, you'll see McCarthy at moments during the speech when his Republicans are acting up like a bunch of children in a restaurant. He'll, he was doing this like mm mm sh he shushed them. He had to shush them from behind Biden during that speech because he was so dang embarrassed by their behaviors. But honestly, dude, what did you expect was going to happen? Did you think that after that bitter speaker battle where you realized you don't have as many friends in the house as you thought you did, you thought they were actually going to listen to you about decorum and manners? No. I mean, you couldn't even keep MIT Romney from fighting with George Santos that's now gone viral. The whole thing was a complete and total crap show for Republicans, not even including, uh, Sarah Huckabee Sanders's awkward response where she said, do you want normal or do you want crazy? People say, we want normal, but your crazy this week could not have gone worse for Kevin McCarthy for, for so very, very many reasons, not just with the State of the Union. But of course, we also find out on Wednesday during those house hearings with Twitter
That Uhoh turns out it was Donald Trump that was sending all the requests to block all these liberals on Twitter, to silence them, to shut them up, which is why I had previously said, by the way that I support all these Republican investigations, because I didn't think at the time they were gonna go the way the Republicans thought they were. And I love to be proven right by the people from Twitter themselves. So yeah, everything this week has backfired on Kevin McCarthy, his clown show was on full display during the State of the Union, and he's mad about it. He's probably gonna get even matter because his Republicans don't seem to think they did anything wrong. They're defending their behavior. So as always, things will continue to get stupider because the Republican Party is led by very, very stupid people.
