5:45Now PlayingDonald Trump is reportedly angry at his newest lawyer, John Lauro, because Lauro isn't going along with Trump's plan to get judge Tanya Chutkan removed from his trial. Lauro has been going across the media world making Trump's problems worse by accidentally "admitting" to some crimes and offering a weak defense of others, but that doesn't seem to bother the former President. What bothers Trump is that Lauro will not make a preemptive motion to remove the judge - a move Lauro knows will fail. This showdown could lead to problems for Trump, as Farron Cousins explains.

John Laro is one of Donald Trump's newest lawyers. He's the one that's been making the rounds in the media for the last week accidentally admitting that Trump did everything the indictment says he did, and, uh, overall has proven himself to be not that great. But it turns out there is actually one thing that John Laro has been right about, and he's been kind of pushing this with Donald Trump, and a new report from Politico says that Trump is unhappy that his new lawyer, Laura, is pushing back on his plan. And Trump's plan, of course, is to get Judge Tanya Chut can removed from the case of overturning the 2020 election. See Donald Trump, who has actually been out there attacking Judge Chut and to the point where she has now had to get increased security, believes that this judge is biased against me. This judge is unfair, this judge, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.
She's out to get me. Now, as per usual, Donald Trump has no evidence to back this up. Judge Truken has not made any statements that would actually suggest that she is in fact, somehow biased against Donald Trump and John Laro being a lawyer, understands that. So, according to this report, LA is in fact pushing back on this because Laurel understands that basically if you wanna get a judge recused from a case, you got one shot. So you have to keep your powder dry until it's time to take that one shot. You cannot do it from the get go because you're a hundred percent gonna lose. She hasn't issued any rulings yet. So if you're trying to claim bias, Laura knows this. I'm, I'm using his, you know, kind of rationale for this. If you're trying to claim bias for rulings that do not exist, you will lose 100% of the time.
So that's why Laura was like, I don't wanna go that route. We shouldn't go that route. But Donald Trump is out there on truth social saying she must recuse, we must get a new place, we gotta have a new judge. This is unfair. It's causing some headaches and it's causing a lot of tension behind the scenes according to this report. This is a fight that Laro is not gonna win. We have seen this in case after Case with Donald Trump. Laro also needs to understand that even if he wants to wait for rulings to come down from the judge and then try to say, okay, we got this ruling. Now we can challenge try to get her removed. It hasn't worked for literally any other case that Trump has been involved in. Not one. They've tried it with all of them, almost all of 'em, and it's never worked one single time. Laurel also knows that, which is why I'm sure, of course Laurel doesn't want to do it at all. Instead Laurel says, let's push for a change of venue. Let's get the case moved to West Virginia. Yeah, y'all want to go to a conservative district so you can get a conservative judge with a conservative
Jury. Jury because you know that's your only hope. But that also then tells us everything we need to know about how bad their defense is. If your only hope for winning a court case is to get it in front of your friends or the people who you know love you, then you don't have a case at all. You are screwed because even in Manhattan with the Eugene Carroll verdict, there was at least one ardent Trump supporter on that jury who still voted that, yeah, we're ruling in favor of Eugene and Carroll. So you can't even guarantee that, by the way. But they're desperate. This judge is a tough judge and that's a good thing. This judge was appointed by Barack Obama, okay? That doesn't mean she's necessarily biased against Donald Trump. Obama did not go up against Donald Trump and they have no reason to seek a recusal.
They have nothing to base it on. But Trump is gonna push and push and push and push until Laura is left with two decisions. One, make a motion. Try to get the judge recused fail. Trump's gonna be. Or two, and this is the better option. Walk away. Quit leave. Don't look back. Burn that bridge to the ground when you leave and you'll be better off for it. Trust me, I've said it a million times, I'll say it a million more. The lawyers who get involved with Donald Trump do not get a happily ever after.
