18:28Now PlayingHave you noticed that people are constantly trying to show that they're a good person, seeking to be justified by themselves and others? Today we live in an age where we're constantly seeking validation, and in this video we explore what that craving says about us. At the heart of virtue signaling and cancel culture we find the dark truth that when we are not justified by God, we find ourselves trying to find justification in others. It so often leaves us unsure, and wanting more. We tear down others and prop up ourselves so that we can salvage some self-worth, but soon it comes crashing down.
Through looking at the teaching of Jesus in the Sermon on the Mount and in Calvin's conceptions of sensus divinitatus and semen religionis, we talk about the importance of seeking justification only in Christ.
