Did you know that the flag of Paraguay actually has two different sides?

The flag of Paraguay is unique because it has different designs on its front (obverse) and back (reverse), a rarity among national flags. On the obverse side, it features the national coat of arms, which consists of a yellow star surrounded by a wreath and the inscription "República del Paraguay." The reverse side, however, shows the treasury seal, symbolizing liberty, justice, and peace, with a lion seated beneath a Phrygian cap and the motto "Paz y Justicia" (Peace and Justice).

This duality stems from Paraguay's history and desire to emphasize its values on both sides of the flag. The treasury seal represents the nation's resilience and commitment to justice, while the front side highlights its sovereignty. This distinction between the two sides has been a part of Paraguay's flag since the 19th century, making it one of the few national flags in the world with this feature.
