How do you stand up by sitting down? Our short film asks one simple question: Can you stand up for someone by simply sitting down beside them?
We often don't think about how our words can hurt others. Adolescents and young adults in the LGBT community often find themselves on the receiving end of harmful comments and malicious hate, and have one of the highest suicide attempt rates in the country. They often face the internal struggle of discovering who they are, as well as the external pressure of fitting into majority norms.
We believe that acts of kindness generated out of love are an important way to build each other up. Sometimes something as simple as a hug, a few kind words of encouragement, or sharing your time with someone can go a long way. That's why we're asking you to join our campaign by using Facebook, Instagram or Twitter to share your STORIES, PICTURES and WORDS of ENCOURAGEMENT with us via #Alstroemeria and @JubileeProject, because Doing Good is Contagious.
