Kerry Roberts, a friend of slain police officer John O’Keefe, took the stand Tuesday afternoon and outlined the timeline from when she first met the defendant, Karen Read, to the day O’Keefe was found dead in the front yard of his friends’ home—where prosecutors allege Read struck him with her car. During her testimony, Roberts recounted calling a friend to ask if she knew O’Keefe’s whereabouts after Read began to panic when he didn’t come home. Roberts also described her relationship with Read, saying they weren’t particularly close but were friendly with one another.
