16:46Now PlayingA pro-LGBTQIA+ church in Plano, Texas, found itself the target of firebombing on July 23rd, just weeks after being featured by Bo Alford, a right-wing, anti-LGBTQIA+ YouTuber. While there were no injuries from the fire, authorities are investigating the incident, which occurred at the Community Unitarian Universalist Church. Alford, who calls himself a "pro lib troller" and frequently targets LGBTQIA+ individuals and churches in his videos, has denied any involvement in the fire. The church has been on high alert since Alford's visit, with church officials reviewing building security and working with the Plano Police Department. In an impassioned response to the allegations, Alford said, “If you watch the video, you will see members of the church having nothing but nice things to say about us. The fact we are being labeled as a hate group and being tied to this fire in any way is appalling.” While the authorities have yet to confirm a direct link between Alford and the fire, the investigation remains ongoing, casting a spotlight on the increasingly heated environment surrounding LGBTQIA+ rights and those who oppose them.
