His supporters insist he is being unfairly targeted, arguing, “Hakimollahi is neither suspected of any crimes nor the subject of any criminal investigation.” However, Swedish authorities, citing national security laws, maintain the right to deport non-citizens based on intelligence assessments alone. As tensions between Sweden and the Iranian regime escalate, this case highlights the growing scrutiny of foreign-backed religious institutions operating in Europe.
