15:05Now PlayingMunich was left in shock after 24-year-old Afghan asylum seeker Farhad Noori deliberately rammed his Mini Cooper into a peaceful protest, killing a 37-year-old woman and her two-year-old daughter, and injuring 34 others. The horrifying attack, which took place during a Verdi trade union demonstration near the Munich Security Conference, was fueled by Islamist extremism, according to prosecutors. Witnesses reported Noori shouting "Allahu Akbar" as he plowed through the crowd, a claim he later confirmed during questioning. "He has admitted that he deliberately drove into the participants of the demonstration," stated Senior Public Prosecutor Gabriele Tilmann, who also revealed there’s no evidence of Noori being part of an Islamist network. Once seen as a model of integration—a successful bodybuilder with tens of thousands of followers—Noori’s online posts before the attack revealed a chilling radicalization, including one where he urged, “Eradicate all those who are bad to Islam.” The incident has reignited fierce debates over Germany’s asylum policies, with officials grappling with how a seemingly well-integrated individual could harbor such deadly intent.
