4:44Now PlayingDuring the opening day of the Minnesota State Fair, Senate Majority Leader Tom Bakk, DFL-Cook, talks with Julie Bartkey about the importance of the Senate reaching out to the public by hosting a booth in the Education Building. "It's kind of bringing the legislature to the people instead of the people coming to the Capitol," said Bakk.
People visiting the booth have the opportunity to complete a 14-question opinion poll, talk with Senators and learn about the Minnesota Senate’s new home, opening in 2016. The Senate booth is located at the rear of the Education Building.
