27:08Now PlayingRecognizing that there is nearly one million Minnesotans who play fantasy sports, Senator Sandy Pappas, DFL-St.Paul, presented her proposed regulatory measure to the Senate Judiciary Committee Thursday, April 7.
According to Pappas, Minnesotans who participate in fantasy sports games "deserve to know that they aren't breaking the law when they play these games with their friends, family and coworkers." She also explained that the industry supports many businesses. "Companies can't afford to grow if they live in fear that they may wake up the next day to find fantasy sports are challenged or aren't allowed," she added.
The Senate Judiciary Committee advanced her bill to the Senate Finance Committee for additional review.
