28:02Now PlayingSenate Republicans outlined their priorities for the 2019 Legislative session at a State Capitol press conference Tuesday, January 8. Majority Leader Paul Gazelka, R-Nisswa, announced that Republicans will introduce five bills that will focus on helping Minnesota families. Gazelka said that statewide tours throughout the summer and fall spent listening to the concerns of Minnesotans helped shape the legislation, which includes addressing mental health issues, accessible and affordable childcare, lowering the cost of health care, making government more accountable, and changes to the state tax code.
According to Gazelka, Senate Committees will begin working on the details of the bills in the coming weeks. The measures will be formally introduced Thursday, January 10.
