In addition to setting a two-year budget, policymakers are expected to address several of the unresolved 2018 issues, including elder abuse, school safety, and tax conformity. As a result of the 2018 election, Speaker Kurt Daudt and House Republican committee chairs will turn over their gavels to DFL members, who will set the agenda for the coming biennium.
