30:46Now PlayingThe Senate convened the 2022 session Monday, January 31. Senator David Osmek, R-Mound, was sworn in as the President of the Senate, replacing Senator Jeremy Miller, R-Winona, who stepped down from the position when assuming the role of Senate Majority Leader.
The Senate also elected Bryan Pierick as Assistant Sergeant at Arms, replacing Marilyn Hall, who resigned from the position upon retirement. The Senate also passed opening day resolutions, such as allowing Senators to vote remotely when not present in the Senate Chamber.
The Senate will meet again Thursday, February 3 at 11 a.m.
