Question: My father and mother and my mother jointly owned a property. After my father passed away, my mother, 2 sisters and I are the legal heirs for the part that he owns. My sisters and I want to release our claim on the property and give it to our mother. What is the procedure to transfer?
Answer: You can execute a release deed wherein you and your two sisters can release your right, title and interest in the property in favour of your mother. The release deed will have to be stamped and registered according to the stamp and registration law applicable in your respective State.
