10:38Now PlayingRandeep Kumar Rana, the DIG (Operations), National Disaster Response Force spoke to Mirror Now on the measures undertaken by the NDRF and Maharashtra government as the threat of the cyclone Nisarga looms large. He gave insight on the possible extent of the impact but assured that all forces were prepared to tackle the threat. People in vulnerable building structures especially along the coast have been evacuated by the NDRF as a measure of caution to ensure their safety at the time of landfall. NDRF teams are also advising these vulnerable communities in the affected areas to fix loose structures in their houses which have the potential of causing extensive damage to people. He has also assured that the restoration work in areas hit by the cyclone will be undertaken immediately after the red alert is called off.
