22:47Now PlayingCyclone Nisarga's landfall in Maharashtra has been accompanied with heavy rainfall, flooding and damage close to Alibaug located about 100 kilometres away from Mumbai. The landfall process will continue for a total of three hours during which the impact of the cyclone will be at its peak amid heavy rain and wind. The storm is moving up towards Mumbai and Thane at the speed of 120 to 140 kilometres per hour at the time of the landfall. It has now decreased to 110 kilometer per hour. The NDRF has undertaken a massive evacuation in the coastal region of Alibaug over the last few days after a red alert was issued signalling the major cyclonic threat.
