3:56Now PlayingMumbai is gearing back from the lockdown in phases. June 5th is the second phase of Mumbai opening up. Though the state is still under lockdown various relaxations are given by the state government. All shops in the market area, except shopping malls and market complexes will be allowed to open up from 9 am-5 pm on an odd-even basis. There are several conditions which shopkeepers have to fulfil like using trial rooms in the shops is prohibited in order to stop infections from spreading, exchange and return policy is prohibited, shopkeepers have to ensure social distancing and are advised to use the system of foot marking on floor, token system and home delivery. If social distancing will not be maintained, authorities will shut down those market area/shops. People are also advised to use cycle or walk to the nearest shopping area. Long-distance travelling for non-essential items is prohibited. But the confusion among the shopkeepers still continues. The shopkeepers' associations of the city will have meetings with BMC officials and seek further clarity on the guidelines and restrictions regarding opening up.
