3:05Now PlayingOn 4th June 1,384 cases were reported positive of which 1,072 were from Chennai. However, the administration states that high numbers recorded only due to the high amount of testing. Special Nodal officer for Chennai Radhakrishnan also mentioned that numbers are in such high amount due to focus testing and requested the people not to panic. Radhakrishnan stated that the recovery rate is still high and the mortality rate is much low which only matters. Chennai Corporation has also initiated the relocation of people from densely populated ones like Royapuram Tondiarpet in North Chennai where the numbers are not under control to camps built In schools or recreational centres, accommodate them for a week, providing nutritious food in an attempt to break the chain. Also, DMK MLA J Anbazagan from Chepauk, Chennai tested COVID 19 positive and is currently under ventilator support.
