9:16Now PlayingIn a bid to combat its looming healthcare crisis and infrastructure shortage amid the COVID-19 pandemic, Delhi government has decided to convert stadiums into makeshift facilities for treatment. The Delhi Lieutenant-Governor, Anil Baijal in a meeting yesterday had asked the state government to begin ramping up health infrastructure for the patients as hospitals run out of space. As of now, the proposal includes the Talkatora Stadium, Jawaharlal Nehru Stadiums and Indira Gandhi Stadium among others. The suggestions come after the statement by Delhi Deputy CM Manish Sisodia stating that by July, the national capital could have 5.5 lakhs of COVID cases.
