6:50Now PlayingIn a bid to combat the healthcare crisis of running out of beds in Mumbai, the city's Guardian Minister has written to Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) Chief to convert recreation complexes into COVID-19 isolation wards in the housing complexes. These isolation centres have been proposed for the asymptomatic and non-critical patients to recover. The use will be limited to people in the same society as a measure to offer relief to the overwhelmed healthcare infrastructure in the city. The BMC is yet to respond to the suggestion, however it is under massive pressure to ramp up healthcare. Maharashtra continues to be the worst-affected state in the country with the highest number of COVID-19 cases.
