The ground reality comes as shocking news with the way India has been dealing with the Covid-19 pandemic. The governments are now being questioned the way they maintained their crumbling healthcare system of the country. One of the incidents that came was how an elderly woman who tested positive for COVID-19 was seen crying in agony, helplessly waiting for treatment at the gate of a government hospital in Jalgaon.
This hospital came in the news as an 82-year-old woman was found dead in the toilet. Another such incident that was highlighted from Jalgaon was when a mother kept waiting for 6 hours for an ICU bed, says a resident from Jalgaon who lost his mother to COVID-19. His grandmother was admitted to the same hospital and went missing from the ward. Her body was then found in the hospital toilet after 8 days.
A journalist named Manoj was tested positive for COVID and was admitted to Hyderabad's Gandhi Hospital. His brother says that he had to fight with doctors to move him to ICU but there was a delay because there were no oxygen cylinders. Manoj died of a cardiac arrest on June 7.
