The health department has turned to resident welfare associations to act as watchdogs for the civic body and report on anti-corona violations in their area. This move comes at a time when the city of Bengaluru has been witnessing a spike in the cases over the last two weeks, and simultaneously the containment zones have also gone up. Apart from reporting on violations of home quarantine and not wearing masks, the resident welfare association also executes additional responsibilities such as coordinating with suppliers and ensuring essentials reach those who are in-home quarantine.
