10:16Now PlayingAmid mass outrage, on the death of shopowners Jayaraj and his son Benicks in the alleged custodial death case in Thootukudi, Tamil Nadu, the Chief Minister K Palaniswami has announced that the probe will be transferred to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) from the Tamil Nadu police. The family of the deceased has claimed that they were victims of police torture in Tuticorin district. There have been no protests so far in the case as the government moves the investigation. Both victims died on June 23, at a hospital in Kovilpatti, after being arrested by the local cops for violating lockdown norms.
