55:19Now PlayingOn The Urban Debate with Tanvi Shukla, as COVID-19 cases in India are spiking a new number on a daily basis, so are the number of death cases. India has witnessed more than 17,000 deaths but somehow death cases are kept hidden.
Mahesh Tapase, NCP talks about how data on COVID deaths under no circumstances should be hidden or fudged. If it is a COVID death, it should be pronounced as one.
Dr. Abhay Shukla, National Co-convener at Jan Swasthya Abhiyan explains how the death audit that was conducted in Maharashtra, on the Coronavirus cases in Mumbai, shows 79 percent of cases had co-morbidities. ICMR also mentioned that COVID-19 must be mentioned as a cause of death even if it is an underlying cause.
Dr. Mahesh Chandra Misra, Former Director, AIIMS also mentioned how there exists a discrepancy in the number of COVID-19 cases and it is said to remain. India has witnessed more than 6 lakh cases that have tested positive currently, but there are maybe 4 times this number as many have not been tested so far and there exists a possibility that they will never be tested.
