Javadekar says, ‘There are 7.40 crore Ujjwala beneficiaries currently and the government had promised to give them three cylinders under the PMGKY-Ujjwala scheme who will benefit further from the extended scheme. Under the PMGKY-Ujjwala, the government decided to provide free of cost refills for PMUY consumers for a period of 3 months from April 1This deadline has been extended till September 30. Under the scheme, Rs. 97,09.86 crore was transferred directly into the bank accounts of Ujjwala beneficiaries during April- June 2020 and 11.97 crore cylinders were delivered to the PMUY beneficiaries’.
