4:21Now PlayingThe drug Remdesivir has been used in India and abroad to treat symptoms of COVID-19, leading to an acute shortage of the drug with authorised sellers amid growing demand and hoarding. Mirror Now found that in Delhi, Mumbai and Bengaluru, several medical shops were out of stock, including the distributors. In the instance of Delhi, there was no stock of Remdesivir, in the chemist store outside AIIMS, the premier government hospital in the national capital. Rajiv Singhal, All India Organisation of Chemists and Druggists spoke on the issue, stating that they were expecting the government to arrange for the drug to be imported as produced in the country to meet the growing demand.
