7:32Now PlayingAmid rising cases of COVID-19 in the state of Maharashtra, there has been a reported shortage of the drugs used to treat patients, in particular, Remdesivir in cities like Mumbai and Delhi. Relatives and other family members of COVID patients witnessed long lines outside pharmacies in Mumbai as the shortage continued across the state in particular hotspot areas. There have also been reports of the prices being hiked as these drugs are sold in the black market amid surging demand. Distributors have also said that they have run out of supplies and need manufacturing capacity to be ramped up in a bid to meet the demand.
