The regions have remained out of focus, while the attention has been fixed on Mumbai, however, Mirror Now investigates the deep connection between both areas and how the situation in Mumbai cannot improve without working to curb the spread in both.
"If the number of COVID cases in Thane is coupled with that in Kalyan-Dombivli, it will become the third-largest urban cluster in Maharashtra, and one of the top ten clusters in the country," says, Dr. Abhay Shukla, National Co-convener, Jan Swasthya Abhiyan
Amid the heavy rain lashing Mumbai, there have been several cases of urban infrastructure collapse bringing into question the efficacy of civic bodies and government in securing the safety of the people living in the vulnerable areas.
