On The Urban Debate with Tanvi Shukla, as India is all set to celebrate Ganesh Chaturthi amidst the COVID pandemic, the question if India is safe to allow festivities still remains intact. Will India's discipline be tested in the festive period? or should the celebration of festivals be a private affair?

Many Indian states have released their Standard Operating Measures so people follow the COVID guidelines and the spread of the virus is curbed. For the first time in 87 years, Mumbai's famous Lalbaughcha Raja will not witness grand festivities during Ganesh Chaturthi, instead, there will be a plasma and blood donation camp, Balasaheb Kamble, who is the President at Lalbaugcha Raja Committee speaks to Tanvi Shukla.

Rahul Eshwar, who is a social activist, explains how we need to have a sensitive striking balance between celebrating festivals, opening up the economy, and having health concerns. Rahul further adds that caution is the only way ahead, even as a practicing believer, listening to doctors and scientists is important.
