2:55Now PlayingCandidates began to arrive at four Centers around Chennai where they were allowed until 9am to enter the Hall.
All necessary social distancing norms were taken. In fact, sanitizers were placed outside the gate itself and the candidate's temperature was checked and noted.
Concerned parents could be seen standing outside the center since 8.30am. Candidates had to carry their identity proof and hall ticket to enter the exam center. Parents were seen having mixed concerns as they were worried on one end children might lose an academic year if the exams are not conducted but on the other about the pandemic situation too.
However, a few claimed that they reached the middle ground and wished the exams were over after seeing the pressure it was building upon their children.
State Health Minister Vijayabhaskar had already registered his protest against conducting exams in a form of the letter to the Center claiming that is was not advisable to conduct the exams at present.
Tamil Nadu is reporting an average 5,900 cases per day.
